Here it is – The Bible Challenge. Get ready for the adventure of a lifetime!
Let’s get started on this life changing adventure. Why do I call it an adventure? Because if you participate in sincerity, seeking the LORD and His Ways as you read and study His Word, you will be amazed at what He will be doing in your heart and life even through the storms of life. This Bible Challenge is designed to be flexible, allowing each congregation, small group, family or individual to come up with their own reading/study/memorization plan. Your design can cover the whole year, using a different plan for each month. Or you might want to have a different design for each week of the year. The possibilities are incredibly numerous! For ideas, keep reading here.

To pastors, preachers, teachers, and all others in leadership positions:
Consider having one service per week, or at least two services per month, to read Scripture without a sermon (unless of course GOD guides you to preach/teach in addition to the reading). Reading the Scripture out loud will have profound effect as the each person *hears* the Word of GOD. “So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” (Rom. 10:17 KJV)
Encourage the congregation to read the Bible daily in their homes on an individual or family basis. Reading silently is fine, but reading out loud if preferable, even for single individuals. (See Rom. 10:17 above.) Remind them to pray for the LORD to teach them as they read.
Encourage the congregation to memorize passages of Scripture on a weekly or monthly basis. (Weekly is preferable.) Parents should be guiding their children in Scripture memorization as well as learning the Scriptures themselves. Individuals might want to form small groups for encouraging one another in the memorization process. Memorizing does not have to be a chore. Think of ways to make a game out of it.

To individuals, small groups and families:
Consider a yearly Bible reading plan that is different from reading through the “Bible in a year” (unless of course that is what you really want to do). Perhaps you will benefit from reading the same portion of Scripture every day for a month, resulting in twelve specific portions being in your heart in a very special way by the end of the year. This type of reading (repetitious) will help with the memorization process also. You might want to read an entire small book (ex. Philippians or Colossians) through daily each month. Or you can read through a small book daily for a week and move on to another the following week, then choose a different plan for the following month. Perhaps reading a few Psalms or Proverbs each day for a month will be part of the year’s accomplishments for this wonderful challenge.
Proper interpretation is vital to a healthy spiritual walk. Thus, be sure read the Bible prayerfully, asking the LORD to teach you as you read and study. Be careful with “study Bibles” because they insert the viewpoints of the author of the study notes. Some may have very good Scriptural information, but some could be in error. ABFaith encourages Bible reading with proper tools for study, but remember to always ask GOD to teach you. Consider a good Hebrew/Greek dictionary. If you have Bible software, such as eSword, make good use of it during your studies. If you have an audio Bible, listen to it but remember to read the Word yourself also. This is important for the learning process.

Be blessed as you read, study and hide the Word of GOD in your heart, dear ones.
NOTE: Remember to choose a version that you enjoy reading and also consider reading several versions. We can learn more by reading and studying several versions of Scripture, along with good study tools, including Hebrew/Greek dictionaries.
